Family Video customer review
A couple of years ago, a Family Video store opened in my town. I had cable TV at the time, so I didn’t pay it much mind. When my girlfriend moved out, she took the cable with her. I got tired of antenna TV, and decided to give Family Video a try.
They have a great selection of movies, and I really dig the way they are categorized. There is a “nearly new” section, of recently released movies that have just passed the “new release” status. These are only $1.00, unless you are a new customer, then you get them for ½ price. The ½ price for a month promo is for all new customers, and can be purchased at any time by regular customers for $4.99. That buys an additional 30 days of half price rentals. This is a great deal if you rent several times a week.
They have free rentals for kids, free for five nights. After that late fees are $1.00 a day. You can rent only these for free if you please. There are some great titles in this section, including lots of Disney features, Scooby Doo, and many others.
There is an adult section, unlike many other chain video rental stores, with plenty of really nasty, up-to-date titles. Something for everyone I guess.
I haven’t had much experience with video games, but they have those too, as well as consoles for rent.
Here’s where they get you- the new release section. If you go to the video store with a girlfriend, she is going to want one of these. The newest ones are what they call one-day rentals. They are $3.99, and are due back the next day before the store closes. Who can do that? The “older” new releases are a bit less, but for about a dollar extra, you can rent them for 5 days. The hottest titles are one day only, no exceptions.
Overall, Family Video is an innovative, new type of business. You will love it until you rent at half price, and pay full price late fees!

I like writing stuff. Check me out on this publishing site.
Brandon E. Newman is my name, no relation to Alfred.
I am new to Blogger, but I am trying to to fill HDbeergoggles with as much baloney as I can.
I hope you can find some humor in my writing. I do.
Making money is what blogging is all about, right? Reckless self promotion. Bad writing can be more lucrative than good writing, as ironic as that sounds. If you are into making the internet work for you, read my crap. You might learn something.
I am here trying to promote my writing, and generate traffic to my published works, so if you have read up to this point, you probably like me, at least a little. Read my other stuff, and comment. Be honest, because I like haters just as much as a compliment.
